Friendship is always a sweet responsibility, never an opportunity. Meet Chris Salvatore 31-year-young man and his 89-year-old neighbor Norma Cook who shares a special bond. She calls him grandson and he considers her a grandmother. Recently cook was diagnosed with leukemia and became gravely ill. She was hospitalized for almost 2 months. She understand that her days are limited so she chosen to spend rest of her time with Salvatore. He became the care giver. In between she was taken to the rehabilitation center as she required tertiary care but her wish was to go back home to spent her final days with her best friend. For this Chris started a fund raising page for her and has raised over $34,000. He presented the check to release her from the hospital. The sweet grandma says “He is my grandson I never had”.
