“I will never leave you nor forsake you.(Heb 13:5)
Van Hoof’s visit was just in time, to meet his beloved friend Mama Chimp, who was the ‘grand lady’ of his chimpanzee colony,” How touching is the response of this “wild animal’s love”..It leaves us still to know the power of Love! The very definition of God –“LOVE”
It reminds me about the days of Apostle John in the island of Patmos! John who experienced and practiced the love of Jesus and identified himself as “the disciple whom Jesus loved” found himself “on this island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ .On his death bed, or the anticipation of his last breath he was touched by the Spirit of God and were fueled by the all loving Word– Jesus Christ – when he heard the voice and saw his Friend in all His Majesty and Glory to comfort Him with The Great Revelations of Himself! Imagine, how much John would have been the joy and surprise of John to see his Master, his loving savior, his friend in whose bosom he used lay and in whose love he used to boast!
As this loving friend of “Mama Chimp” came to meet her on her last days this emotional and excited Mama could scarcely contain herself, our saviors presence is always with us saying “I will never leave you nor forsake you”! So if we’d rather not fear our deathbed, we must trust Jesus Christ as our true friend Who shared in our humanity to destroy death and free us from fear of death and gave us His Eternal Life!
“Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever!(Rev 1-18)
