“I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” (Mathew 25:36)
Good Samaritans are still around! A kind and courteous man spotted a woman in Belgrade and realized her need and quickly decided to rush off and buy her something to keep her feet warm and give her some food to make her full. He was demonstrating the true meaning of a Samaritan, one of the greatest parables taught by Jesus Christ to show us the true essence of love! As Jesus has taught, our neighbor is anyone we encounter; and we are to love all of mankind. We too can surely show compassion and love for those we encounter in our everyday activities. We are to love others regardless of their race or religion; the criterion is need. If they need and we have the supply, then we are to give generously and freely, without expectation of return. We are to set aside our prejudice and show love and compassion for others. As this homeless woman was grateful of the man’s generosity and hugged Him, you too will embraced by the love of the Holy Spirit in your heart while extending the godly love to your neighbor! Let’s go and experience it! Opportunities are all around us!
“Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:31)
