We all know that “dementia” as a disease that causes people to “be forgetful.” But amidst the painful battle against this brain-erasing disease, people like Mallory Headings’ grandfather still have the courage to sing “it is well with my soul.”I believe that its by the grace of God, he is still able to made known the faithfulness of God to his grandchildren.
His little granddaughter Mallory brings her childhood memories of her grandparents who look after her until she turn 12 Y.O saying” My grandpa has always loved music. There was always music in their home. He loves southern gospel and now he was put in the nursing home yesterday for the first time after a few days in the hospital. Before my family left, we sang these old hymns and my grandpa still remembers his harmony as he sings the favorite hymn with his family at his bedside.This loving elderly man’s memory comes flooding back for a harmonious minute in time that Mallory’s family will cherish forever and surely acknowledge the mercies of the God in their life!

"My grandpa has dementia. My grandparents watched me every day while my parents were at work until I was 12. They were a huge part of my upbringing. My grandpa has always loved music.
