Students Helps Beloved Janitor To See His Family He Hasn’t Seen In 4 Years

Herman Gordon, a school janitor is highly regarded by his school students that they gave him enough money to see his family. After learning that their ‘jolliest’ janitor had not been to see his family for four years, they decided to surprise him with a special gift. Dozens of students at the University of Bristol in England donated money to raise roughly $2,000, enough money for a week long vacation to Jamaica for Gordon and his wife.

They put the money in an envelope with a little note reading “Dear Herman, on behalf of the students at Bristol, we would like to thank you for all the positive energy you have given to us throughout the years. You have brightened many of our days and we want you to know that we love and appreciate you. We have come together to give you a special gift as our way of saying thank you. Have a lovely summer.”

Their sweet gesture of love was good enough for their beloved janitor to fill his heart and eyes with love and joy!

Verse of the Day

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” — Hebrews 13:5-6 (NIV)
