Veteran Trucker Fighting Colon Cancer Sings To His Kids In Touching Video

After diagnosed with colon cancer, the veteran truck driver is doing something unique for his kids.  When he learned that he wouldn’t be able to drive anymore, the truck driver for more than 40 years decided to take one final ride with a very special passenger. 60-year-old Delvin Simmons took his son along with his ride and sung a very emotional song.

Rode along next to his dad, Justin filmed the song and uploaded the video to Facebook . His dad singing “The Old Man Is Dead” by ‘Del Way ‘got a remarkable caption to move the people!

“My dad has been a truck driver since he graduated high school, a dream he had since he was a young boy. All truck drivers go by a handle, and dad chose “Ranch Hand” when he first began and has been known by that ever since. In 1987 when I was 7 years old he gave his heart to Christ and accepted Jesus as his savior. Since that time he has passionately and selflessly served the church, his community, and so many others showing them God’s love the very best he could.”

Delvin said he chose this song, because it had gotten him through some tough times and wanted to make that video for his kids to see it forever! He hopes that after hearing his own story no one else will make such delay in getting a colonoscopy test that could potentially save a life! He got his colonoscopy test just two weeks ago and found that he is in its last stage!

“If I had had a colonoscopy 5 years ago, this may have all been different,” “I have sat in this hospital and I have cried. Not for sadness but because I am overwhelmed at what God is doing with that song,” Delvin emotionally shared!!

What a great man and how profound are his thoughts! May God give him the strength to endure his battle and bring victory for His precious child!

This is the song Dad wanted me to record him singing so I’d have it after he was gone. I love it!!! My sisters have already shared it but I’m sharing it now. So Hang on!
