You don’t expect to hear Bible trivia in the middle of a grocery store aisle. But that is exactly what happened when one young girl was put on the spot.
Zachary Impellicceiri spends a lot of his time walking through stores filming Christian street interviews. He approaches random shoppers and plays Bible trivia with them for cash. In this video, his offer was fifty dollars for every question they got right. He walked up to a young girl and asked if she could name all four Gospels. She barely blinked before answering, “Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.”
He handed her fifty dollars and kept going. Next, he asked for the first verse in Genesis. She stumbled for just a second on the very first word, but then she caught her footing. She said, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and then God spoke.”
Zachary praised God and handed her another fifty bucks. Then he raised the stakes again and asked her to name ten books in the Bible. Without missing a beat, she rattled off Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, and First and Second Samuel. Kids can surprise us with how much of the Bible they know, and she clearly knew exactly what she was saying. He gave her another bill and then asked who rose from the dead on the third day. She immediately answered, “Jesus Christ.”
With a handful of cash won, he asked her one final question. If she had one message to the world about the Lord, what would she tell them? She looked right at him and delivered something far beyond her years.
“He just loves us,” she said. “If we obey Him and show Him that we have faith, we can, like, really see Him, and He will help us get through hard times.”
Those words don’t come from someone who just knows the Bible. Only a person who has truly tasted and known the Lord can speak like that.
Right there in the store, that young girl preached the plain truth better than most people with a microphone. I was so moved by her bold faith at such a young age.
Like her, may we also speak about our God with confidence, wherever we are. And let us pray for our younger generation, that God would cover them with the precious blood of Jesus and raise them up for His kingdom.
