A stray cat in Istanbul, Turkey, won the hearts of many when she kept trying to walk up an escalator the wrong way.
God made us to care for His creatures. When we see an animal or person struggling, we have a choice. We can walk by or we can stop to help.
The little cat tried over and over to walk up the escalator. But the stairs kept moving down and carried her right back to the start. She would take a few steps up, then the escalator would push her back down again. The poor thing just couldn’t win.
Most people walked past and watched her struggle. They saw what was happening but didn’t do anything about it. The cat kept trying because she really wanted to get to the next floor. She was tired but she wouldn’t quit.
Then one person walking by saw what was going on. This kind stranger didn’t just feel sorry for the cat. They bent down, picked her up gently, and carried her to the right side of the escalator. The one going up.
The cat rode all the way to the top, safe and sound.
This sweet video shows us something important. That person could have kept walking like everyone else. But they chose to help.
God puts us in places where we can be that helper. We can be the ones who notice when someone needs help and actually do something about it.
