Celine Dion’s hilarious Siri mixup video shows that even famous people deal with technology problems just like we do.
Most of us know the feeling when technology just won’t cooperate with us. You ask your phone to call someone and it dials the wrong number.
Your GPS takes you to the wrong address. Your smart TV refuses to find the show you want to watch.
Even someone as famous as Celine Dion deals with the same tech troubles we face every day.
The singer wanted to hear her new version of ‘Hymne à l’amour,’ a song first made famous by Edith Piaf. But Siri had other plans.
Each time Dion asked for the song, Apple’s voice assistant gave her the same wrong answer.
“Hey Siri, play ‘Hymne à l’amour’ by Celine Dion,” she said the first time.
Siri replied that it could not find that song but offered to play ‘My Heart Will Go On’ instead.
Dion tried again with the same request. Siri gave her the exact same response about not finding the track. The singer started laughing but felt frustrated too.
“No! Hello. No, no, no,” Dion said after the second attempt failed. She told Siri “Never mind!” and decided to try something different.
For her third try, Dion spoke with a thick French accent. This time, Siri understood perfectly.
“OK, here is ‘Hymne à l’amour’ by Celine Dion,” the voice assistant finally said.
Dion held up her phone with a big smile and gave a thumbs up. She looked surprised that the simple change in accent made all the difference.
