A dog in Greenland stole an Associated Press reporter’s camera, hit record by accident, and filmed a video that has since gone viral.

AP journalist Emma Burrows and photographer Gena were in Greenland filming dog sledders when one of their cameras went missing. The two searched everywhere. They could not find it.
They went back to the site in the dark, using torches and iPhone lights in the freezing cold to search for the missing 360-degree camera. The camera cost $700, so leaving it behind was not an option.
Then Burrows saw dogs running away from the spot where they last saw the camera on the ground. She followed them. There it was, lying on the ground.
What she found made the whole thing worth it. The dog had picked up and hit the record button. The footage shows the dog running with the camera in its mouth.
The best part is the look on the dog’s face. It looks like it’s smiling the whole time.
The video spread fast online. People loved it. One viewer wrote, “True journalism…no bias…just recording.” Another wrote, “I love how the husky looks as though he’s smiling!”
It is hard not to smile watching that video. In the middle of busy news days and heavy stories, this happy dog brings us so much joy.
