Genavieve Linkowski knows this truth deeply. She grew up as the oldest of 11 children in a small Michigan town. Her parents made sure she learned piano, violin, and harp from an early age. But her real gift shines when she sings with her whole heart for God.

She also competed twice on American Idol and inspired many with her faith.

The song she covers means a lot to Christian music fans. Phil Wickham wrote ‘Battle Belongs’ with Brian Johnson in 2020. Jonathan Smith helped produce the song for Wickham’s album ‘Hymn of Heaven.’

The song climbed to number two on the Christian music charts and got nominated for a major award at the 2021 GMA Dove Awards.

Genavieve’s passion for worship comes from a place of deep hurt. She lost her sister in a car accident in 2019. This tragedy changed everything for her family.

Instead of letting grief destroy her faith, Genavieve chose to let God use her pain for His purposes.

“From that moment on, God began a journey to teach me lessons that only suffering can teach in a way that I would never ever in my life ask to be done,” she writes on her website.

“God has used this tragedy to do what He has given me the desire to do with all of my life – to give Him glory!”
