Comedian Jeff Allen shares a funny but honest message about why married couples need to argue sometimes.
Disagreements are common in a marriage. But how we handle them makes all the difference. Many couples hold their frustrations inside to keep the peace.
But the problem is, they start to pile up over time. When that happens, it can create bigger problems that steal our peace and joy.
In a video shared on YouTube, Jeff said, “You’ve got to argue in your marriage. You don’t argue in your marriage; it’ll build up in your brain over time and fries your brain.”
He said that couples who never argue end up “like those babbling mumbling couples you’ve seen in Arizona, Florida.” He joked about seeing older couples walking down the street — the wife walking ahead while the husband trails behind, mumbling to himself.
“This poor guy’s starting to try to win back all the arguments he’s been throwing away for 50 years,” Jeff said. “You know he was six three when he got married. Now he’s four foot one, look at the poor man.”
Jeff’s story reminds us that every marriage needs good communication. When we speak with care and keep God at the center, even small arguments can bring couples closer together.
