In the video, young Nicholas Protsenko sits in front of his piano on the street and gracefully performs the popular Christmas carol ‘Joy to the World.’

The classic Christmas hymn was written by Isaac Watts in 1719. It celebrates the coming of Christ and the joy He brings to the world.

Halfway through his performance, Nicholas’s 7-year-old brother Leo joins in on the violin. The music becomes even more beautiful. Then Karolina Protsenko picks up her violin too.

What starts as one little boy’s song becomes a wonderful family performance right there on the street.

People walking by stop in their tracks. Many pull out their phones to record the performance. There’s something special about hearing children sing Christmas songs. Their voices remind us why we celebrate this season.

Verse of the Day

“[Glory in the Highest] Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

Luke 2:8-11
