Little Girl Reads Genesis and Her Hilarious “Translation” Has Everyone Laughing

A little girl’s attempt to read from the Book of Genesis turned into a hilarious family moment when her creative “translation” of Scripture went in a direction nobody expected.

We all remember the first time we tried to understand Genesis. The creation of the world, light and darkness, land and sea. It is a lot to take in even as adults.

Some of us still sit with those verses and find something new every time. So here a little girl reads the very first verse of the Bible and tries to make sense of it all in her own way, and you just have to smile.

Mia Takes On Genesis

In the video, a young girl named Mia opens up what looks like a Bible and gets right to it. “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth,” she reads. So far so good. But then Mia goes completely off script.

“Then made the sun blow up and the fire came on,” she continues. That is definitely not in any Bible translation we have ever read. And she is not done.

“But it came off. Daddy said he was going to turn it off. But his hand just hurt his hand.” She literally wrote her dad into the creation story.

Her brother steps in to correct her. He tells her that is not what it says. Mia does not appreciate the feedback. She gives him a slap right on the face. Her mom has to jump in. “Mia, be nice. Stop hitting,” she says.

Does Mia stop? Not a chance. She goes right back to the beginning and starts the same verse all over again. “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.” Her mother points out that she already read that part. She just says “Yeah” and keeps going.

So here is the thing. Mia may not have gotten the words right. But she picked up the Bible. She wanted to read it. That matters more than we realize.

We could all use a little more of that eagerness when it comes to spending time in God’s Word. No matter how old we get, may we never lose the excitement of opening up Scripture.

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Verse of the Day

“[The Humbled and Exalted Christ] Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

Philippians 2:5-8
