Strangers Stop Traffic to Reunite Stranded Moose Calf With Its Mother

A tiny moose calf got stranded on a highway median and two strangers stopped everything to carry it back to its mother.

A mother moose and her newborn twin calves were trying to cross Highway 97 near Prince George in British Columbia. She made it across with one calf. But the second one got left behind on the median. It couldn’t clear the concrete barrier and it just stood there pacing back and forth.

The mother came back to the barrier. She tried. But there was nothing she could do.

Traffic was backing up. People were waiting to move on with their day. But Duane Hogberg didn’t do that. He got out and carefully lifted that tiny calf over the barrier and carried it to the other side where its mother was waiting.

Another bystander helped too. Together they got that little calf safely back to its family.

Someone caught the whole thing on video and honestly it’s hard to watch without feeling something.

God didn’t give us eyes just to see our own reflection in the mirror. He gave them to us to see others, to notice when someone needs help whether it’s a person or an animal. It might seem like a small thing to us in that moment but when we take that step we never really know how much it means on the other end or how many people watching are moved by it.
