A cow in North Dakota has become a social media star just by hanging out on her owner’s front porch every single day.
Sometimes it’s the simplest things that bring the most joy to our lives. It may be a little word from our kid or a funny act from our pet that just makes our whole day better. Here a cow sitting on a porch is making people smile all around the world.
Alyssa Telling owns the Dakota Funny Farm in Bottineau North Dakota and her cow Daisy has nearly 400,000 followers on Facebook. People from New Zealand, Switzerland and India are all tuning in just to watch a cow sit on a porch.
Daisy came to the farm as a bottle calf when she was just a baby. She walked up to that front porch one day and never really left. Now many of us would think Daisy keeps coming back because Telling feeds her there but that is not the case at all.
“Everyone thinks I fed her on the porch and that’s why she comes to the porch. But I have never fed her on the porch. I never trained her to do this.”
When it gets too hot outside Daisy moves to the shade in the backyard or heads to the garage where she spends time with the pigs.
What keeps Telling posting videos? She says the messages from followers mean everything to her. “The comments that get to me the most are the ones where people are like, ‘I’m going through this, and your videos make me smile.’ That’s why I keep going.”
Daisy is also expecting her first calf soon and Telling is already calling it the Porch Calf. She is also writing a children’s book called “Daisy the Porch Cow.”
