A nursery teacher used two eggs to teach her students a lesson that nobody in that room will ever forget.
We see it every day. Division. Hate. People treated differently because of the color of their skin, their ethnicity, or where they come from. It breaks your heart when you think about it. But what this nursery teacher is sharing with her kids is an eye-opener for many around us.
She set both eggs down in front of her curious little class. The kids spotted the difference straight away — one brown, one white. Then she cracked them open, one at a time. She spun them around and asked the children, “Can you tell which egg is which?” They laughed. Of course they couldn’t.
Then she said it simply. “This is just like people. People look different on the outside, right?” That was it. No big speech. No complicated words. But what she demonstrated was bigger than what they could learn in their entire school life.
God never looked at a person and saw a color first. He sees what’s inside. He always has. And we — all of us — were made the same way, with the same worth, the same soul, the same need for His love.
This teacher gave her class something they’ll carry far longer than any worksheet. We could probably use the same reminder. Look a little deeper. That’s where the real person lives.
