A visually impaired two-year-old girl from Calgary, Alberta, has the sweetest reaction when she realized she had been given an ice cream cone.
The video, taken by her mom, Amanda Burritt, shows Emma sitting down as her mom gives her the ice cream. At first, Emma is curious, trying to figure out what she’s been given. When she realizes it’s ice cream, her face lights up with a big, beautiful smile.
Emma was two years old when this video was shot. She’s now four and has been through a lot in her young life. Emma was born with a rare condition called KIF1A Associated Neurological Disorder (KAND).
The condition has severely impacted her life, taking away her ability to see, walk, and talk. Emma is one of only 500 people worldwide diagnosed with KAND.
Despite these challenges, this young girl is inspiring us to find happiness in life’s simple things. Her beautiful smile just made my day.
