Family Saves Bear Swimming With Head Stuck In Plastic Container

Boaters came to the rescue of a baby black bear swimming in the lake with a plastic jug stuck on its head.

Tricia Hurt shared the video on Facebook, saying that her family saw the bear on Marsh-Miller Lake, 30 miles north of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The clip shows the family circle the “baby bear” with their boat, and getting close enough to pull off the plastic jug from the animal’s head. “We saved our little bear!” Hurt exclaims moments after the bear is freed. “Swim happy!”

Hurt went on to say that the bear made it safely to shore. Wisconsin is home to a thriving black bear population, around 24,000 bears, live in the northern part of the state.

Never dreamt we would ever do this in our life time. Out on Marshmiller Lake yesterday with Brian Hurt and Brady Hurt when we spotted this poor bear. He made it to shore after all that.
