A crowd in Paris got the surprise of their lives when 100 musicians showed up to perform ‘Carol of the Bells‘ right there on the street in an epic flashmob.
When we think about Christmas, the first thing that would come into our minds would be the carol songs that share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Songs like ‘Silent Night,’ ‘O Holy Night,’ ‘Hark the Herald Angels Sing,’ and ‘Joy to the World’ have been on the favorites list for generations.
Among that list, we cannot skip the beloved song, ‘Carol of the Bells.’
‘Carol of the Bells’ comes from a Ukrainian folk song called Shchedryk. Mykola Leontovych wrote the music. Peter Wilhousky wrote the English words. People all over the world know this song now.
In this incredible performance, we experience this song in a way that we will not soon forget.
This wonderful surprise happened at the Comité du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. They were getting ready to turn on the Christmas lights.
Hundreds of people stood in the street, waiting to see what would happen. Then three young boys appeared at a window on the first floor of a building. They started singing ‘Carol of the Bells.’
More and more young singers showed up at other windows. They all sang together in beautiful harmony.
The crowd were totally surprised as the angelic young voices roared in harmony. But it was just the beginning of a grand performance.
Talented musicians started playing. Pianos, guitars, brass instruments, and drums filled the street with music. The crowd was already amazed, but something even better was coming.
A little girl walked down a red carpet. At the end was a post with a button. When that little girl pressed the button, the decorative lights turned on all around them.
People stood there mesmerized. Then a young boy started playing his electric guitar. That changed everything. The entire atmosphere shifted to pure joy.
The other musicians and the choir joined in with even more power. You could see the wonder on every face in that crowd.
What an amazing way to celebrate the coming of our King of Kings, Jesus Christ.
