Over 7,000 strangers came together and sang ‘Hallelujah’ in powerful video.
A singing group called Choir! Choir! Choir! brought all these people together. Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman started this group in Toronto, Canada back in 2011.
Choir! Choir! Choir! is different from regular choirs. Anyone can join. You don’t need to audition or prove you can sing. They simply teach people popular songs in harmony and record everyone singing together.
More than 7,000 people showed up for this performance. They learned the parts and sang ‘Hallelujah’ together.
Leonard Cohen wrote this song in 1984. It talks about praise, struggle and faith. The lyrics mention Bible stories and create a meditation on our relationship with God. When all those voices blended together, the sound was breathtaking.
It was not a pitch-perfect performance. That wasn’t the point. These complete strangers just came together because they loved singing. They wanted to share that joy with each other. And when they did, something beautiful happened.
