Christmas Story Bible Verses

The joy of Christmas is incomplete without the Christmas story. This is because Jesus Christ is the reason for the season, for God demonstrated His love for us by sending His only begotten son to redeem us from our sins.

As we celebrate Christmas, we should remember the story of the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem, understanding how the word of God became flesh and dwelled among us.

These Bible Verses will remind us of the joy and peace of His presence as we meditate on the wonders of the season.

  • Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born, to us, a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

  • Isaiah 7:14

Therefore the Lord will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son and call his name Immanuel.

  • Matthew 1:21

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

  • Matthew 1:18

Now, the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.

Because Joseph, her husband was faithful to the law and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you will give him the name Jesus because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:

  • Micah 5:2

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.

  • Luke 2:14

“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
