A cockatoo named Chief has gone viral for his hilarious reaction to men walking into his owner’s home.
God created every creature with a distinct personality. Among them, cockatoos have to be one of the most expressive birds out there. If you’ve ever been around one, you already know — they have zero interest in hiding how they feel about you.
Kim adopted Chief about nine years ago. His previous owners were relocating to Europe and simply couldn’t bring him along. He was already around 10 years old when Kim took him in — so this bird had already developed some very firm opinions about life before she even met him.
The moment a man walks through Kim’s front door, Chief completely transforms. He starts talking non-stop, pulls himself close to Kim, and basically sounds the alarm until she acknowledges the “threat.”
Kim describes it herself — “If a man comes in my house, he starts warning me.” And honestly? That’s hilarious. What makes it even better is that he doesn’t bite. He just talks. Loudly. Repeatedly.
Women and kids though? Chief loves them. Climbs all over them without a second thought.
There’s only one man he’s ever accepted — an old high school friend of Kim’s — and even Kim has no explanation for why that particular guy got the pass.
Viewers couldn’t get enough. One person wrote, “Never a sad day in this house with this entertainer!” Another called him a “home defense cockatoo.”
God brings joy to our homes in different ways. But most of the time, it’s our kids or our pets that do it best — just like Chief, one loud, opinionated, chicken-legged cockatoo at a time.
