A father turned a regular shoe shopping trip into a comedy show when his daughter dared him to test his new sneakers.
The Bible tells us that “a joyful heart is good medicine” (Proverbs 17:22). Sometimes God gives us that medicine in the most unexpected places.
A daughter was filming her dad as he tried on new sneakers at the store. She joked that he should do a “speed test” before buying them. At first, her dad pushed back. “I can’t run that fast anymore,” he said. “I’m too old.”
But his daughter kept encouraging him to sprint down the aisle. Finally, he gave in.
The next thing she knew, he was running full speed up and down the store aisle. His daughter couldn’t stop laughing.
The other shoppers probably got a good show too. We don’t know if he bought those shoes, but he definitely made a memory.
Next time you get a chance to be spontaneous with your family, take it. Don’t let fear of embarrassment steal your joy.
