17-year-old Christian singer Drake McCain moved the three judges on American Idol with his moving audition, but it was clearly Katy Perry who was most affected by his performance.
As Drake’s backstory was presented, the audience learned more about this remarkable young man who worked in a grocery store to support his mom and 10 siblings.
His singing was on point as he performed “His Eye Is On The Sparrow.” Later, when Judge Luke Bryan mentioned “Oh Happy Day” from Sister Act, Katy Perry was inspired to belt out this iconic number, with Drake joining in.
Drake McCain received the coveted ticket to Hollywood. We can’t wait to see what this talented young man will perform next.
