Angie Sutherland Sings Beautiful Rendition Of ‘Give Me Jesus’

Angie Sutherland sings a beautiful rendition of ‘Give Me Jesus.’ This is the first time Sutherland is behind the mic since the passing of her father.

Angie shared a special bond of music with her father as he was always seen playing the guitar in her music videos. But after the recent passing of her dad, Angie returned back to the music scene with her version of “Give Me Jesus.”

Give Me Jesus is an African-American spiritual written during the harsh times of slavery in the US. The lyrics are simple, but so poignant.

In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
You can have all this world
Just give me Jesus

Whether we are facing tragedy or triumph, weathering storms or counting treasures, we should want Jesus more than it all.

Verse of the Day

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. — Romans 5:6-8 (NIV)
