We’ve all been there at weddings, whether we’re getting married or watching from the pews. Our hearts race, we forget what comes next, and we worry about messing up the big moment.

But sometimes, those nervous mistakes turn into the most genuine moments of joy and laughter that everyone remembers long after the ceremony ends.

The sweet moment happened during Maddelin and Ben Butcher’s wedding at Francis Xavier church in Berrima, New South Wales.

Father Michael Healy was officiating the ceremony. After he finished the vows and ceremony, he started walking down from the altar. That’s when the bride spoke up.

“Do we do our kiss? First kiss? First kiss?” Maddelin asked.

Father Healy had forgotten to give the traditional announcement for the couple to kiss. The whole church started laughing when they realized what happened.

But instead of getting embarrassed, the priest walked back to the microphone.

“You don’t expect a note back about a note to remember something like that,” Father Healy told everyone.

His honest comment made everyone laugh even harder. The bride and groom stood there waiting, still not sure what to do next. They looked at the priest for guidance.

“Go on, do what ya have to do,” Father Healy finally said.

The room filled with laughter again as Ben lifted Maddelin’s veil and kissed his new wife.

The 37-second video of this moment went viral on social media, bringing smiles to people everywhere.

Verse of the Day

“Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.””

Revelation 21: 2-4
