A 13-year-old girl named Kinga Gawron stood on a busy street corner and sang her heart out for Jesus. She chose one of our favorite worship songs, ‘Oceans,’ and her beautiful voice stopped many in their tracks.
Sometimes we feel shy about sharing our faith in public. Many of us hesitate to bow our heads in restaurants or mention Jesus to neighbors. But this young lady reminds us that God loves bold hearts. When we trust Him completely, He gives us the courage we need.
Hillsong United wrote the song ‘Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)’ in 2013. The lyrics talk about trusting God even when we cannot see what is ahead. They encourage us to step out in faith in Jesus, just as Peter did when he walked on water.
The street was busy with people walking everywhere. Cars were driving by, and city sounds filled the air. But none of this bothered Kinga one bit. She closed her eyes and sang like she was alone with God.
What struck me most was how natural she looked while worshipping. She was not nervous or worried about what anyone might think. This young lady just wanted to praise Jesus right there on that street corner. You could see the pure joy on her face as she sang.
Even though Kinga is only thirteen years old, she sings like someone who has been performing for years. Her voice is clear and strong. But more than her talent, it was her courage that really impressed everyone.
This sweet story reminds us that God can use anyone who says yes to Him. Kinga’s example encourages all of us to be brave about sharing our love for Jesus wherever we go. What a blessing this young girl is to our world.
