A New Jersey doorstep became the setting for a life-changing encounter between a delivery driver and a first-time author.

Damian Lewis left his job in August 2025 to go all in on his book titled ‘Call Me First: A Man’s Blueprint to True Leadership at Home‘.
Things were moving slowly. He only had about six weeks of savings left in the bank. He knew he might have to walk away from his dream if things didn’t change soon. Then he met Kyle Thurkauf.
A Simple Question That Changed Everything
Kyle is a UPS driver who had been dropping off boxes for a while. One day they finally met face to face. Kyle looked at the packages and asked a simple question. “What’s the deal with all these books?”
Damian explained he was the author and gave Kyle a copy. He was just happy someone took an interest in his work.
A few days later Kyle came back even though he didn’t have a delivery scheduled. He wanted to tell Damian how much he loved the book. He even asked where others could buy it. Think about that for a second. He went out of his way just to be kind.
The Breakthrough
The moment was caught on a Ring camera and posted to TikTok. It went viral and has over 33 million views now.
Because of that video Damian has sold more than 9,000 copies. “I feel blessed beyond anything I could ever expect,” Damian said. “I almost feel like I don’t deserve it.”
The two men are now friends who talk every day. Damian supports Kyle’s side business called Preservation Pantry. Kyle runs it with another driver.
Damian was at his lowest point and a UPS driver became the answer to his prayers.
