Eight-year-old Reagan Tessier of Gilford, New Hampshire, was stunned when a real Bernese Mountain Dog puppy walked into her living room just moments after she had been gifted a toy version of the same breed.

The story began when Reagan opened a gift box a few days before Christmas. Her eyes lit up at the sight of a plush Bernese Mountain Dog toy. Little did she know the real surprise waited behind her.
Cori Tessier and her husband had planned this special moment for their daughter. They lived near Lake Winnipesaukee and Mount Major in New Hampshire with their seven-year-old golden retriever, Teddy.
When Cori’s business partner called about Bernese Mountain Dog puppies available in Kansas, they knew that would be the perfect Christmas gift for their child.
The two business partners chose siblings from the same litter. They named their puppies after places close to their hearts – Winni for Lake Winnipesaukee and Major for Mount Major.
Reagan, an only child, shared a special bond with Teddy, her “furry brother.” On December 19, her parents put their plan in motion.
As Reagan held her new plush toy, Major walked into the room. Her jaw dropped in amazement. The video of this precious moment touched hearts across social media, reaching over 40 million views.
“We were able to hide Major overnight, and then I wrapped the stuffed animal, and Major came out perfectly on cue – we have been in love ever since,” Cori shared.
The genuine surprise on Reagan’s face captured the pure joy of the moment. Major seemed to know his role, walking straight to Reagan to say hello.
Teddy welcomed his new friend with open paws. “Teddy has been staying busy with Major, and they get along beautifully,” Cori said. The two dogs formed a quick friendship, making the family’s decision even more blessed.
