The family band features a husband and wife, Secan and Sheena, along with their four children.

Naces is 15 years old and plays the keyboard. Neisha is 13 and plays lead guitar. Stacey is 11 and serves as the singer and rhythm guitar player.

The youngest member is 10-year-old Isaiah, who plays the drums.

The family explained their purpose on their YouTube page. They said, “We are a family commissioned to propagate the importance of family unity by showing love and respect to each family member and for one another.”

They view their musical abilities as a gift to be shared with the world. Their bio notes, “We put into action our God-given gifts to bring joy and fun into other people’s lives through music.”

The Story Behind the Song

For this performance, the group chose the beloved hymn ‘How Great Thou Art’. This song was originally written as a poem by Carl Boberg in 1885.

Boberg was a Swedish pastor who was inspired by a sudden, violent thunderstorm that was followed by a peaceful calm.

Later, a British missionary named Stuart K. Hine heard the song while serving in Ukraine and translated it into the English version most people know today.

The message of ‘How Great Thou Art’ focuses on the power and grace of God. It starts by looking at the wonders of creation, like the stars and thunder, and ends by praising God for sending His Son to die for our sins.

Let us sing along with this family and praise our Heavenly Father.
