An extraordinary friendship between a rescued deer named Buttons and a dog named G-Bro has touched the hearts of many.
We all know what it feels like when a dear friend moves away. We wonder if they will remember us or if they will come back to visit.
Animals feel this same way too. God made them with hearts that can love deeply, just like ours.
This story started eleven years ago when a mother deer was hit by a car. A kind family found the baby deer and decided to help. They named her Buttons.
Their plan was simple. They would take care of Buttons until she was strong enough to live in the wild again. They knew this was the right thing to do.
During those early days, something wonderful happened. Buttons met the family dog, G-Bro. The two became best friends. They played together every day.
When it came time to let Buttons go back to the forest, everyone felt sad. But they knew Buttons needed to be free.
Here comes the amazing part. Buttons never forgot her dog friend. She comes back to visit G-Bro all the time.
“Buttons will just show up at the door and that’s when you know she wants to see her buddy,” the family says. “She’ll even paw at the door if you’re not answering it in a timely manner.”
The most touching moment came when Buttons brought her babies to meet G-Bro. “The first time Buttons brought her babies to meet our dog was an excitement for all of us,” the family explains. “G-Bro is so gentle with her babies.”
This friendship shows us that love never dies, even when friends must part ways.
