A nine-year-old girl made people smile with her creative answer on a spelling test.
Elliot is a fourth grader in Ontario, Canada. On October 20, she took a spelling test at school. She got most of the words right—words like brought, thumb, receipt, and February. Then she came to word number 13: echo.
Elliot did something different. She didn’t just write the word once. She wrote “echo” over and over across the page.
Each time she wrote it, the word got smaller. It looked like the word was fading away, just like a real echo does.
Her mom, Tara Heshka, saw the test later. “Number 13 popped out right away, and I laughed and thought, ‘This kid,'” Tara told Newsweek.
Tara shared a photo of the test on Threads. More than 30,000 people liked it. Hundreds shared it with their friends.

Elliot is the youngest of five kids. Her mom says she likes to keep things fun.
“She does well in school but sometimes gets bored and adds little comments to her work to keep things interesting,” Tara said.
Teachers loved what Elliot did. One teacher wrote, “As a teacher I love things like this.”
Let’s encourage the children around us to be creative and find joy in learning, just as God made them to be.
