Blake Bahr was born with only one kidney and it was malformed. He immediately needed a kidney transplant to survive. His mother Heather shared her son’s story on Facebook and a Warrenton native Laurie Jansen happened to see it. When she saw Blake’s struggle, he thought about her mom, who had received a kidney transplant but needed another. But Laurie was not able to donate hers, and her mom died. So Laurie decided to help the little boy by donating her kidney. However, it was a perfect match. Blake is now a happy and active boy. The amazing act of kindness has brought two families together.
