The Petersens perform a breathtaking rendition of ‘Down to the River to Pray’ featuring a synchronized drone light display.
The performance took place at a special WorldServe event. The band includes four siblings: Katie, Ellen, Matt, and Julianne. They performed alongside a stunning visual display created by SkyGlow Drones, owned by Ellen’s husband, Michael.
This made the whole event even more special for the family. Hundreds of drones lit up the night sky behind the band. The display created a beautiful backdrop that added to the spiritual message of the song.
‘Down to the River to Pray’ is a traditional American folk hymn. Many people know it from the 2000 film ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’
No one knows exactly who wrote it or when. But the song’s message is clear. It speaks about seeking spiritual cleansing and coming together to pray and worship.
The performance had some real challenges. The Petersens don’t use a click track when they perform.
This made syncing with hundreds of drones very tricky. But everything came together beautifully. The live music and the drone display worked in perfect harmony.
The result was a performance that touched hearts and glorified God.
