Marriage is never without its rough patches. God designed the union between a husband and wife to be a place of grace, patience, and honest communication. But most of us know how hard that can be when emotions run high.

Tim Hawkins, one of Christian comedy’s most beloved voices, found a way to make that reality both relatable and hilarious.

In a viral video, Tim opened up about a real argument he had with his wife. He said he had learned that asking questions during a disagreement helps couples work through conflict better.

The idea is simple: questions create understanding. They slow things down and get to the root of the problem.

Tim said he actually tried it. “My wife and I got into a disagreement. It got hot. It got heated. We started to fight.” He stopped himself, remembered the advice, and decided to ask a question.

The question he chose? “Honey, why are you being a psycho right now?”

The crowd erupted.

Tim also riffed on how differently men and women text each other. Men send a few words and consider it done. Women, on the other hand, send entire journals.

We don’t have to be perfect communicators to love each other well. We just have to keep trying, keep laughing, and keep showing up for one another. That’s a kind of faithfulness God honors too.

Verse of the Day

“[The Humbled and Exalted Christ] Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

Philippians 2:5-8
