Tim Hawkins, the beloved Christian comedian shared a side-splitting take on marriage by comparing it to the daily ups and downs of the stock market.

We all know marriage takes work. It is not something you figure out once and then coast through for the rest of your life. God calls us to love each other with patience and care every single day. Tim Hawkins talks about it in the funniest way possible.
In a clip posted on social media, Tim breaks down why marriage works a lot like the stock market. You have to check in on it all the time. He points out that one nice gesture does not carry you for weeks.
“See, marriage is not like, you know, you can give your wife flowers, and she’s good for three months,” Tim said. “It doesn’t work that way. Marriage is like the stock market, man. You’re checking it every day.”
Then he acts out a husband who notices things have gone south. “‘Oh, that dipped. What happened there? Must have been when I left the sock in the fridge. That’s probably what happened there. That’s probably the reason that happened.'”
It is the kind of moment every married person knows too well. One small slip and the whole mood shifts.
Tim also talks about a time he took his wife out to dinner. He expected a nice evening together. But from the start, there was tension between them. Tim does not blame anyone else. He says it was his fault.
The trouble started on the way to the restaurant when he asked his wife what she wanted to eat. If you have ever been married, you already know how that conversation can go.
A lasting marriage needs patience, love, and good communication. But above all, Christ should be at the center of the relationship. When we put Him first, He gives us the grace and strength to handle the ‘dips’ in a way that builds the bond even stronger.
