Two sisters from California touched hearts with their moving performance of the beloved hymn ‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus.’
Fifteen-year-old Ella and fourteen-year-old Lucy gave us a beautiful performance on their YouTube channel, Jerde Sisters.
Ella played her mandolin while Lucy strummed her guitar. Their voices blended together perfectly as they sang in that peaceful strawberry field.
The girls call themselves “sisters & best friends” and they love singing hymns and gospel music. They also enjoy country songs and other music that brings hope and encouragement.
‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus’ was written by Louisa M.R. Stead back in 1882. She wrote it during a difficult time in her own life.
This hymn teaches us about the joy we find when we trust Jesus completely. It reminds us that Jesus is always in control, even when life doesn’t make sense to us.
When we trust Him with our problems and fears, we can have peace and joy no matter what we’re facing. The song also talks about how Jesus’ blood can cleanse and heal us.
These sweet girls have big dreams for their music. They said, “Please pray for us as we work towards writing and recording songs that glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!” What a beautiful heart they have for serving God.
Let’s remember to pray for Ella and Lucy as they grow in their faith and their music ministry. May God continue to bless their hearts and their voices as they share His love through song.
