3-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Serves As Flower Girl In Her Bone Marrow Donor’s Wedding

3-year-old cancer survivor, Skye Savren-McCormick served as a flower girl in her bone marrow donor’s wedding. 26-year-old bride, Hayden Hatfield Ryals was Skye’s bone marrow donor when she was diagnosed with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia in March 2016.

It was months after the transplant, Skye’s parents received a letter from Ryals, who reached out them through the organization to which Ryals donated her bone marrow. Then on the families started exchanging messages and texts and finally Ryals sent Skye a gift on her 3rd birthday. The gift was included with an invitation card for the little girl to be the flower girl at her wedding on June 9. Skye’s parents were more than happy to accept the invitation from the one who “saved their daughter’s life”! They made their trip to Alabama to attend Ryals wedding, and at the wedding rehearsal, Skye and Ryals embraced for the very first time..

“I walked up and I just dropped to my knees and all I could do was smile,” Ryals expressed her happy feeling and the flower girl’s awesome presence was beautiful enough to make everyone in tears of joy!

Verse of the Day

““The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.”
