UPS Driver Chased by Two Wild Turkeys During Delivery But He Outsmarts Them

A UPS driver in Branford, Connecticut, had the most unexpected Friday afternoon of his career when two aggressive wild turkeys refused to let him finish his deliveries in peace.

We have all had those days where everything goes sideways. But most of us have never had to negotiate with a pair of turkeys in a parking lot just to do our jobs.

So here is what happened. Resident Hindy Jaffee was on the phone with her best friend when she heard what sounded like a brawl outside her window.

“I think that somebody is fighting outside,” she told her friend. She looked out. It was not a brawl. It was her UPS driver, backpedaling across the parking lot with two large turkeys closing in on him fast.

She started recording immediately.

The footage, later posted to TikTok, shows the driver actually trying to outsmart the birds — luring them to one side of his truck so he could sneak around and grab a package. It almost worked. Almost. The moment he made his run, both turkeys went after him.

“I’m 40-years-old, I can’t be dealing with this,” he says before running to deliver the package with the turkeys hot on his heels, in the video.

“The UPS guy, I call him the turkey guy now,” Jaffee laughed.

What makes this even funnier is that this is completely normal life at that complex. The turkeys come back every year after Thanksgiving, block traffic, chase residents, and basically run the neighborhood.

Wild turkeys can hit 18 miles per hour on foot. That is faster than most of us can run.
