The Dove Award-winning group SELAH perform a moving song ‘You Don’t Leave Me’ featuring Christian artist Natalie Layne.

God is the architect of our lives and he never looks away when we are struggling. We often feel like we are walking alone through a difficult valley but he is actually right there beside us in the middle of the mess.
When we look back at our lives we can see how his hand guided us through things we thought would break us. This truth reminds us that we serve a God who is deeply personal and incredibly faithful.
In the song ‘You Don’t Leave Me’, the lyrics describe being in a “desert with no water, no shelter, no cover” while waiting for a rescue. Written by Natalie Layne, Karin Lori Simmons, and Chris Clayton and released on the 2024 album ‘Higher Name’, the message is all about trust.
It reminds us that God is “faithful to your promises” and “faithful like you’ve always been.” Even when we feel “fearful and burdened and lonely and hurting,” the song declares “You meet me right here in my pain.”
It is a conversation with the Father where we admit we are waiting for help but we also know he is “the God who stays.”
We can be sure that he will finish what he started in our lives because “You don’t lead me just to leave me.”
We should hold onto the hope that the promised land is just up ahead even when we are in a wasteland.
Let us remember that he is walking with us until the very end and he will never forsake his children.
