Someone Called 911 on Two Boys Selling Lemonade, But What the Police Did Was Incredible

Someone called 911 on two young brothers running a lemonade stand in Kansas City, Kansas and what the officers did has touched the hearts of thousands of people.

911 call on boys lemonade stand

We’ve all seen a kid set up a little stand on the street corner. Maybe you smiled driving past one. Maybe you stopped and bought something just to see their face light up. There’s something about it that just feels good and pure. So when someone called the cops on these two boys it’s hard not to shake your head.

Parez and Jakkhi Reese had been running their little stand for years. Lemonade, Kool-Aid, snacks. Just two boys out there trying to make something happen. Then one day somebody in the neighborhood called 911 on them.

We don’t know why. Maybe they were bothered. Maybe they thought they were doing the right thing. But it backfired in the best way possible.

Officer Morgan Reed was the first to arrive. And instead of shutting the boys down she started calling her colleagues.

“I was calling everybody,” she said. “Make sure you guys stop by the lemonade stand. Then whenever they weren’t busy a couple people were able to swing by.”

Dozens of officers showed up within 30 minutes. The boys made $280 that afternoon. Reed came back the next day and spent another $40.

She said it best herself.

“I think a lot of us were kids growing up in this city. This was the thing that we always looked forward to as kids, these friendly police interactions.”

That’s community. That’s what it looks like when people actually show up for each other.

Parez wants to use his money to buy an e-bike and help the homeless. Jakkhi is buying diapers for his nephew and niece. These are kids thinking about other people. It’s clear God is doing something special in these boys.

They’re keeping the stand open all summer. And something tells me Officer Reed will be back.

Let us all have that heart to encourage the kids around us to do something positive just like these two brothers did. The world needs more of that. May God bless Parez and Jakkhi and every officer who stepped in that day.
