A teacher’s joke of the day turned into a hilarious classroom moment when her students tried every possible logic to crack a simple fruit riddle.

We all know that one teacher who made class actually fun. The kind who started the day with something light before getting into the real work. That’s exactly what this teacher did and watching it play out is one of the most wholesome things you’ll see today.
She asked her class one simple question. “What is the father of all fruit?”
The very first answer stopped her in her tracks. A student said “God” without a second thought and she just went “What?” She didn’t shut it down though. She smiled and said “Well okay not in this joke” and moved on.
Then the guesses just kept coming and honestly these kids were sharp. “Elderberry” came from someone clearly thinking about elder meaning older or more senior.
Another student said it should be “the one who takes care of everyone” which is a completely reasonable way to define a father.
Someone connected “mango” to the word “man.” One kid went with “watermanon” which is watermelon but said in the most confident way possible.
These weren’t random wild guesses. These kids were actually thinking it through and working the logic out loud.
“The Emperor.” “The founding fruits.” “Strawberry.” “Blackberry.” The teacher met every single answer with warmth and kept the energy going the whole time. You could tell these kids felt safe enough to just throw things out there without worrying about being wrong.
Then finally the teacher just revealed it herself. Papaya. Papa-ya. The father of all fruit.
The room loved it. And we did, too.
