An innocent man lost twenty four years to a wrongful conviction before a faithful woman’s prayer changed his fate.
Back in 2002, Cedric Moore and another man were wrongfully convicted of terrible crimes they absolutely did not commit.
The courts gave him seventy five years behind bars all because of flawed DNA evidence and some awful lies from the real offender.
It is just heartbreaking to imagine losing your youth in a place like that. He spent over two decades locked away witnessing horrors no human being should ever see. But God was watching over Cedric and carefully putting together a beautiful plan for his deliverance.
Years later, Cedric connected with a precious woman named Holly through a dating app. After a long break in their communication, Cedric reconnected with her in 2020. When Cedric asked if he could prove his innocence Holly simply replied “Can I tell you about Jesus?” She had just given her heart to the Lord and she decided to fight for his freedom on her knees.
Holly said the Lord told her to look up scriptures pertaining to justice and freedom and declare those scriptures over Cedric every day. She even wrote prayers for his release on the back of her church tithe envelopes.
We truly need to remember how powerful our prayers are when we stand in the gap. Cedric knew it was divine intervention because he said God knew it couldn’t be a worldly person fighting for him.
The Lord gave Holly a beautiful vision of a chessboard where she saw the hand of God moving the pieces into the exact positions He needed.
Armed with that divine assurance, she started calling different lawyers to find a way forward. But the fees they asked were from fifty to one hundred thousand dollars, and it made their path seem out of reach.
Finally Holly reached the very lawyer who had just freed Cedric’s co-defendant. She hired him for three thousand dollars. Cedric said It’s God man. He was lining everybody up along the way. They presented the new DNA evidence to the judge and the truth was undeniable.
After twenty four long years, Cedric finally walked out a completely free man. The two of them are happily married today and they give all the glory to our Heavenly Father. Cedric has no bitterness at all and wisely says what man and woman do don’t really matter He has the last say so.
“I’m thankful for Holly, but I’m thankful also for God aligning her in my life to be able to help me like that.” Cedric said.
After twenty four long years, Cedric finally walked out a completely free man. When we look at all of this together, it is just breathtaking to realize how our Heavenly Father moves in ways we cannot even begin to fathom.
God saw every single tear Cedric shed in that lonely prison cell over all those endless years and He never forgot him for a single second.
Long before a rescue plan ever came together the Lord was already quietly at work preparing the exact right person for the battle. He brought Holly to salvation right at that precise moment and filled her heart with a fierce prayer warrior spirit so she would be ready to stand in the gap.
When we try to look at our impossible trials through human eyes, everything often feels so hopeless and heavy. But we must always remember that with God all things are truly possible.
