He’s just 9 years old, but when you see how fast his fingers move across the keys without missing a note, you’ll be amazed.

Alexander Zhou is a fourth grader at the Kaufman Music Center Special Music School in New York City. He started playing piano at five years old.
Like most beginners, the early days were rough. “At first it was just some random notes,” Alexander said. “But then I got slowly more into piano, and then my fingers just flew across the keyboard.”
His recent NPR Tiny Desk performance went viral online. Viewers did not just notice his skill. They felt something deeper in the way he played.
When asked what he loves most about the piano, Alexander gave a simple and honest answer — it lets him “express your emotions.”
As for Alexander, his dreams stretch beyond the piano. “Right now, I take piano as a profession, but I do also want to be an actor when I grow up,” he said. “But music will always be an important role in my life.”
Every good gift comes from the Lord. He places talent inside each of us — sometimes in ways we do not expect and at ages that surprise us.
So if there is a child in your life with a spark for music or art or anything creative, cheer them on. Water that seed. God planted it there for a reason.
