Mother-Daughter Duo Performs Moving Rendition of ‘Amazing Grace – My Chains Are Gone’ with Utah Valley Children’s Choir

Janey and Angie Killian perform a moving rendition of ‘Amazing Grace – My Chains Are Gone’ with members of the Utah Valley Children’s Choir.

John Newton wrote ‘Amazing Grace’ in 1772. He was once a slave trader who found God’s mercy and turned his life around. Chris Tomlin added the chorus ‘My Chains Are Gone’ in 2006, giving the old hymn a fresh sound.

The song tells us about freedom in Jesus. It reminds us that God’s grace can break any chain that holds us back. No matter what we have done or where we have been, His love sets us free.

In the video, Janey sings with her beautiful voice while her mother Angie plays the melodious notes of the piano in the background.

Then at 1:45, the atmosphere changes when the members of the UVCC join them. When we hear their combined voices, it feels like a group of angels worshiping God.

There is nothing better than watching children use their talents to glorify the name of God. We feel blessed by this performance. What about you?

Verse of the Day

“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Matthew 5:11-12
