Popular Rapper Daddy Yankee Ends Career to Follow Jesus

In a surprising move, Daddy Yankee, renowned reggaeton artist, declared his retirement to follow Jesus. At his final concert in Puerto Rico, he delivered a powerful message, quoting the Bible and expressing his commitment to live for Jesus. “What good will it be for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?” he asked, citing Mark 8:36.

“That is why tonight, I recognize, and I am not ashamed to tell the whole world, that Jesus lives in me and that I will live for him,” Ayala opened up about his faith in Jesus.

Ayala, now using his birth name, Ramón Ayala, shared his newfound purpose with his 48.9 million followers on Instagram. “All the tools that I have… music, social networks, platforms, a microphone — everything that Jesus gave me — is now for His kingdom,” he stated. He urged his fans to join him in his spiritual journey: “To all the people who followed me, follow Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth and the life,” he said, referencing John 14:6.

His Instagram post further emphasized this message, quoting Matthew 16:26-27, reminding his followers of the importance of the soul over worldly gains. The event culminated with an impressive display of dozens of drones forming a cross in the sky, bearing the message “Cristo viene” – “Christ will come”.
