Turkish Firefighter Adopts Cat He Rescued After It Refused To Leave Him

A video of a cat rescued from the rubble by a Turkish firefighter during the recent earthquake in Turkey has gone viral.

The cat was reportedly trapped in the rubble for 10 days and nights until it was rescued by a firefighter, Ali Cakas. Since then the animal has refused to leave its rescuer.

Ali Cakas, who is also the coach of the Turkish national mountain bike team took the cat home and named the animal ‘Enkas’ meaning ‘rubble’ in Turkish.

In the video, Enkas could be seen perching on Ali’s shoulder with an endearing look, adamant about being by Ali’s side.

Enkas has been adopted by Cakas and the cat has become the new mascot of Cakas’s fire department.
