A couple decided to get married in a pool, and honestly, it makes perfect sense when you hear their story.
God writes the best love stories. He knows exactly when and where two people need to meet. Sometimes He brings them together in the most ordinary places and turns those moments into something extraordinary.
Edward La Rue and Marlene Parsons met in a water aerobics class at their local YMCA. They kept showing up for class, and somewhere between the exercises and the splashing, they fell in love.
When Edward proposed, pool director Alie Morgan had a sweet idea. Alie is an ordained minister, and she offered to marry them right there in the pool.
The wedding day was full of joy and laughter. Marlene walked down wearing a veil and a tutu with a corset on her T-shirt. Edward wore a long sleeve tuxedo T-shirt and a top hat. Their guests came in their best swimsuits, ready to celebrate in the water.
They had a real ceremony with all the special moments. After Alie said the words, there was a bouquet toss in the pool.
Then came their first dance as husband and wife. They wore water shoes and swayed together in the pool while the song ‘Only You’ played.
Edward opened up about finding love again. “I never expected to find anybody. I always told my kid, I’m not getting remarried. I’ll never find anybody to put up with me. And then I found Marlene.”
Marlene said with a smile, “He found somebody as crazy as he is. He puts laughter in my heart again.”
This story shows us something beautiful. God can bring joy back into our lives when we think those days are gone. He gives second chances. He brings people together in His perfect timing.
