8th Grader Saves All Year So Low-Income People Can Wash Clothes For Free

She knows that what her mom says about her is true – “You are blessed”! While other kids of her age is spending their springtime partying on the beach or enjoying their life, this young girl has selected most excellent way to make sure that her community has clean laundry. This 8th grader saves all year for spring break so that she can help the low income people in her community with a free laundry support!

Jayera Griffin – who is an honor roll student at Washington Junior High School in Riverdale, Illinois.  She was prompted to give back when she noticed that some poor children she tutored did not always have clean clothes to wear. She was moved with compassion to know their poor financial status to afford a laundry or to have their own washer and dryer at their home!

So for the entire year she has spared her time in saving and fundraising so that she could provide a free laundry day at her local Laundromat. Luckily she could save $1,000 for this great event, held on Tuesday and many were happy to make use of it!

Her act of kindness inspires many and the 14 year old teenager is now planning to have another free laundry day during August! Her mission in supporting others with such great way is truly remarkable and worth praising! Truly she is blessed to be a blessing!

Verse of the Day

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. — Psalm 8:3-5 (NIV)
